Description

French artist Bobby Dollar has concocted a design that's hard to beat. It's what we live for, and you won't go unnoticed with this board on or off the slopes. The Gonzo is a new addition to our already extensive range. We wanted it to be a go-anywhere board, because that's what's available today. It's got a classic camber for relaunching, and a crazy twin-tip pop for good balance. Whether you're a beginner with a definite desire to progress, or an intermediate motivated to become a pro, this is the board for you. We invite you to watch Thomas Regnier's video, and you'll see that your only limits will be your own.

The Gonzo behaves a bit like the Message Merken, so there's no risk involved in riding this kind of board. If you're looking for a versatile board to have fun on and off the slopes, or in a snowpark, the Gonzo is ideal. With its shape and ribs, you'll be able to ride a switch at full speed.

As for its construction, it features a poplar core from FSC-certified forests, renowned for its solidity and torsional strength. A biaxial fiber covers the core to maintain its playful, dynamic feel. The base is a sintered IS 7200 base in either black white or black white flip flop. We take care not to lose any material. We use a biosourced resin to glue it all together. We try to pay as much attention to detail as we have since day one. The Gonzo has a flex of 7/10, because this kind of board needs to have a little stiffness but not too much to play with the tips on any terrain.

HARDENER 6012

Hardener 6012 is a light brown liquid that is a mixture of polyaminoamide and aliphatic amines, produced with up to 65% carbon of plant origin content which has been confirmed by an independent radiocarbon laboratory in AMS tests in accordance with ASTM D6866. The final bio-based carbon content will depend on the both component ratio and in case of SYSTEM 6012 it is 22%.

What is meant by flex?

It's the way a board tends to flex. At Stone we rate it from 0 to 10. The stiffer a board is the more it is destined to send & less forgiving. On the other hand, the softer a board is, the less reactive it will be in relaunching but will forgive you some mistakes. The softer a board is at the beginning, the more it will become a real uncooked sausage during the sessions. At Stone we consider that riding a board that is a bit stiff at the beginning is really optimal. Why? The core of a board is always built up over the days, weeks, months that you ride it. At Stone, a Flex 7 is considered a good alternative to go anywhere. We will then gravitate between the 6 & the 8 to lean more or less towards a particular desire as for the flex.

Flex 7: This is our standard at Stone. This flex is playful, a little more peppy than the 6. On an all mountain board, it will allow you to ride all terrains without hesitation. A responsive board. Not too soft, not too stiff. A good compromise. On splitboards it's always better to have a board that's a bit stiff in the conversions.

FREESTYLE

Whether you start young or old, we all want to make jumps. Snowboarding is fun, it's rock n' roll. This sport is the antithesis of skiing. The goal of every snowboarder is to get over any terrain & jump. Everyone in his own way knows how to jump, small or big jumps. Passing in a snowpark & sliding on a handrail. The most important thing is to have fun doing it. A freestyle snowboard is centered on its inserts. Twin tip. With a twin tip snowboard you will be able to go everywhere with a preference for the snowpark & the piste. Generally more flexible, you will be able to handle your snowboard without any physical pain. You will be able to freeride, obviously it will not be the absolute weapon to make big slope & big powder. With your feet centered, your legs will get hot! Don't worry, you'll get to the bottom and back up. As you can see, this kind of board is more suited to classic snowboarding, if you want to push it, you will have to add other types of boards to your quiver. The good thing is that we offer all the types of snowboards a rider can look for.

ALL MOUNTAIN

It's kind of like freestyle with a freeride accent. A more experienced rider will take an all mountain snowboard to go anywhere. On the piste, in the powder or in a snowpark. If we have the budget we will definitely have a board for each practice. It's always better, now if we don't want to take the headache, then we will choose this program to do everything. Generally with a slight set back on the back foot of a few centimeters, we will also find that the flex is often a little stiffer, which is a little less forgiving than a freestyle board. When you need to send it on the track or in the variable snow, it will hold better. This is what differentiates a freestyle board from an all mountain.
